Under the patronage of Professor Mona Mahmoud Abdel Latif, Director of the city of Scientific Research and technological Applications, and Professor Dr. Gina El-Feki, Acting President of the Academy of Scientific Research and Technology, Professor Dr. Mohamed Rashad Abdel Fattah, Deputy Director of the City for Scientific Affairs and Research, inaugurated the Children's Program, funded by the Academy of Scientific Research, on Sunday, August 17, 2025, at the Scientific Scientific Center - New Borg El Arab - Alexandria. The program was co-sponsored by Professor Dr. Amr Salah Morsy, University Coordinator for the Open Science Research City, and Professor Dr. Rana El-Rafiq, Executive Director of the Children's University at the Academy of Scientific Research and Technology. The program is supervised by the deans of the city's research institutes, members of the research staff, and their assistants. The program aims to instill a love of technological sciences in the hearts of new generations through an interactive and innovative environment.

As part of the City's mission to raise scientific awareness and prepare and qualify a new generation of distinguished, creative youth to program community applications and achieve development, Professor Dr. Mona Mahmoud Abdel Latif, Director of the City's Main Events, has finally unveiled its 2025 graduate school programs. These programs are witnessing strong interest from students at various scientific institutions (governmental, private, and civil), and they also focus specifically on scientific research for employment. This was announced by Professor Dr. Mohamed Rashad Abdel Fattah, Deputy Director of the City for Scientific and Research Affairs, along with the deans of the City's research institutes, members of the research staff, and their assistants, on Wednesday, September 10, 2025, at the City's headquarters in New Borg El Arab City.

Professor Dr. Mona Mahmoud Abdel Latif, Director of the City, announced the inclusion of 19 researchers from the City on Stanford University's list of the top 2% of the world's most influential scientists, according to the September 2025 update. This represents an increase of 7 researchers from last year. She stated that the inclusion of these scientists on this prestigious list confirms the quality of research conducted at the City, which meets the highest international standards. It also highlights the efforts made to promote scientific research and encourage innovation across various disciplines. This achievement is not only a source of pride for the City, but also a testament to the vital role Egypt plays in supporting and developing scientific research.

Professor Dr. Mona Mahmoud Abdel Latif, Director of the City, hosted Mr. Yasser Abdel Fattah Salem, Chief Administrative Affairs at the Egyptian Petroleum Research Institute and former Director of the Public Relations and Media Department in the City, on Monday, July 15, 2024, to give a lecture under the title: Innovation and sustainable development in  Law No. 23 of 2018 (Science, Technology and Innovation Incentives Law) in the presence of Professor Dr. Mohamed Rashad Abdel Fattah, Deputy Director of the City for Scientific and Research Affairs, Professor Dr. Yasser Refaat, Deputy Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research (former), and His Excellency the Deans of Research Institutes, members of the research body, their assistants, and administrators in the City.Mr. Yasser Abdel Fattah gave a presentation on innovation and sustainable development in light of the Science, Technology and Innovation Incentives Law. The seventeen sustainable development goals were explained and that development must balance social, economic and environmental sustainability. The performance standards and indicators of the Scientific Research City were also presented. It is arranged according to the Semago classification according to the classification criteria in terms of research activity, innovation outcomes, and societal impact.Professor Dr. Mona Abdel Latif praised the lecture for being in line with the directions of the state and the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research in supporting the field of innovation, sustainable development, and entrepreneurship, as it contributes to research and development at all levels to achieve the best successful innovations, create new opportunities, and create different ideas to support the field of modern technology. It also stressed the importance of the role of transfer and marketing technology activities and supporting innovation in linking the outputs of scientific research to the needs of society, building a knowledge-based economy, developing new applications to enhance the transfer of knowledge from academia to industry, accessing it into locally made products and marketing them, and facilitating the creation and development of new technology-based companies. And stimulating economic development.The meeting concluded with a discussion session on what was covered in the lecture.

إستقبلت الأستاذ الدكتور / منى محمود عبد اللطيف – مدير المدينة وفدا من أعضاء جمعية التنمية الإقتصادية و ريادة الأعمال برئاسة الدكتورة / سوزيت الريدي- رئيس الجمعية ، و بحضور السادة عمداء المعاهد البحثية ، و رؤساء المراكز التكنولوجية و الأستاذ الدكتور / محمد رشاد عبد الفتاح – الأستاذ الباحث بالمدينة و رئيس لجنة متابعة تفعيل الاتفاقيات العلمية ومذكرات التفاهم .حيث تم عرض فيلم تسجيلى عن نشاط المدينة بمعاهدها البحثية ومراكزها التكنولوجية و دارت المناقشات حول أوجه التعاون بين المدينة و الجمعية في مجال ريادة الأعمال و خدمة المجتمع و دعم شباب المبدعين أصحاب الأفكار الإبتكارية .و الإستعداد المشترك بين الجانبين لإقامة ملتقى الشباب العربى الثالث لريادة الأعمال و المقرر إنعقاده خلال النصف الثاني من شهر مايو 2022 بالمدينة .تخللت الزيارة عمل جولة تفقدية بمعاهد المدينة البحثية ، مراكزها التكنولوجية و المعامل المركزية بما تضمه من تجهيزات معملية و إمكانات .

إستقبلت الهيئة العامة لمدينة الأبحاث العلمية و التطبيقات التكنولوجية مجموعة من الباحثين المشاركين في المشروعات القائمة (SoWat) و يضم دول ( جمهورية مصر العربية ، فرنسا و جنوب أفريقيا ) ، و (AFROMONITOX) ويضم دول ( جمهورية مصر العربية و السويد ) ويعمل في مجال إعادة استخدام مياه الصرف الصحي في المناطق الريفية في البلدان الأفريقية ، في بدء زيارتهم للمدينة على هامش ورشة العمل الأولى تحت مشروع بعنوان “تقييم السمية البيئية لمعالجة مياه الصرف على نطاق صغير فى المجتمعات الريفية ” خلال الفترة من 23-26 أغسطس 2021 . تأتي الزيارة في إطار جهود الدولة المصرية لوجود حلول مبتكرة لإعادة تدوير مياه الصرف الصحى و دور مدينة الابحاث العلمية و التطبيقات التكنولوجية ببرج العرب فى خدمة المجتمع المدنى ، حيث تعد إعادة إستخدام مياه الصرف الصحي جزءًا لا يتجزأ من إدارة الطلب على المياه خاصة المناطق الريفية التي تعاني من ندرة المياه . جاء ذلك خلال أستقبال أ.د/ منى محمود اللطيف – القائم بأعمال مدير المدينة أعضاء فريقى المشروعين البحثيين من الجانبين المصرى والأجنبى خلال زيارتهم للمدينة قبل بدء فعاليات ورشة العمل حيث قامت بتقديم عرض عن أنشطة المدينة البحثية ومشروعاتها العلمية فى مجال إعادة تدوير مياه الصرف الصحى .
