In the City of Scientific Research and Technological Applications Summer School “Artificial Intelligence Arabic Language Processing Techniques”

Within the framework of continued cooperation between the city and scientific and academic institutions, and under the patronage of Professor Dr. Mona Mahmoud Abdel Latif, Director of the City, the City, through the Institute of Informatics, organized a summer school on techniques for processing the Arabic language with artificial intelligence for students of the Faculty of Computer Science and Engineering at Alamein International University in coordination Between Prof. Dr. Bayoumi Abdel Rahman, Dean of the Informatics Institute, and Prof. Dr. Mustafa Al-Nanathi, Dean of the College, during the month of July 2024, where (24) male and female students from the College attended the training , Under the supervision of Professor Dr. Mohamed Abdel-Rahman, Deputy Director of the Institute of Informatics, and Dr. Shaima Youssef Lazem, Head of the Computer Graphics Department at the Institute, with the participation of Dr. Maged Abdel-Ati at the Institute of Informatics and Engineer Ahmed Al-Sayed, Assistant Lecturer at the Faculty of Engineering, Alexandria University. Professor Dr. Mona Abdel Latif stressed the importance of integrating modern technology, especially artificial intelligence techniques, in various fields related to the Arabic language through artificial intelligence, as artificial intelligence has the ability to analyze, understand and generate language in a way that mimics human intelligence to enhance and develop the language, and techniques also contribute Artificial intelligence in developing tools capable of translating texts to and from the Arabic language with increasing accuracy to break down linguistic barriers and enhance communication between different cultures, In addition to the events of artificial intelligence, there has been progress in the ability of systems to understand linguistic rules and apply them in a way that enables Arabic texts to be analyzed in depth, and to help identify Arabic calligraphy in all its forms, which opens wide horizons in the fields of archives and historical documents, which were difficult to process or convert to digital texts. Easily without extensive human intervention. The training included artificial intelligence topics centered around human service and techniques for processing the Arabic language with artificial intelligence. The training lasted (5) weeks in physical presence and online, and varied between lectures, scientific readings, practical activities, and specialized projects. At the end of the training, the students presented The implementation of various projects included: artificial intelligence models to detect hate speech and fake news in the Arabic language, with models dedicated to answering questions related to the texts of the Holy Quran.
