The City of Scientific Research and Technology Applications participated in the activities of the third edition of the International Industry Forum and Exhibition (3 IMCE), which was held under the patronage of His Excellency President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, President of the Republic, organized by the Federation of Egyptian Industries at the Al-Manara International Conference and Exhibition Center, during the period from 25 to 27 November, and under the patronage of Dr. Mostafa Madbouly, Prime Minister, on behalf of His Excellency President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, President of the Republic, and a number of ministers, governors, representatives of diplomatic missions, members of the House of Representatives and the Senate, heads of agencies, in addition to a number of businessmen, investors, local and foreign manufacturers, representatives of regional and international industrial institutions, representatives of the banking sector and industrial economic entities, and a large group of consultants specialized in various industrial sectors. Professor Dr. Mona Mahmoud Abdel Latif, Director of the City, attended the opening activities of the forum and exhibition, as well as attending the dialogue session entitled “Investment in Industry – Opportunities for Integration and Growth”, during which Lieutenant General Engineer Kamel El-Wazir, Deputy Prime Minister for Industrial Development, Minister of Industry and Transport, spoke, representing the government Prof. Dr. Mona Mahmoud Abdel Latif stressed that the city’s participation came as a result of harnessing all material and human capabilities to reach the enhancement and development of local production, increase competitiveness, replace imported raw materials with local ones, find alternatives, and work to localize various industries in cooperation with the private sector to drive the wheel of national production, as well as address chronic societal problems and work to find appropriate solutions to them through innovative prototypes, which helps support local industry to reduce the import bill and thus contribute to the economic renaissance in its comprehensive form, by working on the axes of the National Strategy for Science, Technology and Innovation 2030 in the second track, which targets knowledge production and the transfer and localization of technology to contribute to economic and societal development, and also to achieve the axes of the National Strategy for Higher Education and Scientific Research, especially the axis of communication and integration between higher education and scientific research institutions and linking scientific research to the needs of local industry to increase productivity and improve the quality of Egyptian products. Prof. Dr. Mona Abdel Latif also reviewed the products and prototypes that the city participated in the exhibition through its pavilion No. HALL1-1D53, as part of the city’s keenness to be present in various local and international forums to promote research outputs that can be applied industrially in many sectors, as the city participated with (23) research products: (Light LED strips, manufacturing of solar reflective mirrors, DNA ISOLATION KIT, (RNA) RNA Later, Safe water, treating domestic wastewater and reusing it for irrigation purposes, smart gasification of solid waste, production of biogas and organic fertilizer from solid waste, DNA LADDER, production of marine collagen from fish waste, production of high-carbon materials from plastic waste for use in environmental applications, carob biscuits to treat obesity, GREEN COMPOST VERMCOMPOST, HUMIC SUBSTANCES, NEMAROOT KILLER 24, additives for animal and poultry feed SELENOBIOTIC, advanced biofertilizer, natural extract From olive leaves as a food supplement for diabetics, CALCI-ORGANO SOLUTION, Water desalination from a hybrid system for generating renewable energy, Immune stimulant and anti-coronavirus, DATE SEED SAVE DIET, Hand sanitizer with nanoparticles and essential oils that is antibacterial and anti-coronavirus, Model for water desalination by membrane distillation, Environmentally friendly treatment unit for treating industrial wastewater). It is worth noting that the city’s pavilion received a great turnout from the attendees, and visitors to the pavilion praised the products and prototypes that the city participated in the exhibition with.
