Participation of the City of Scientific Research and Technological Applications in the final qualifying competition and training camp for the Gen-Z program at Al-Jalala University

Under the patronage of Prof. Dr. Mohamed Ayman Ashour, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, His Excellency witnessed the activities of the final qualifying camp for the final rounds of the Gen-Z TV program, which was held in cooperation between the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, represented by the Innovators and Geniuses Care Fund and the United Media Services Company, at Al-Jalala University, during the period from September 14 to 18, 2024, in the presence of Prof. Dr. Hani Ayad, Executive Director of the Innovators and Geniuses Care Fund, and members of the teaching and research staff from the coordinators of the Startup Olympiad from various universities and research centers. Prof. Dr. Mona Mahmoud Abdel Latif stressed that entrepreneurship is one of the most important sectors that contribute to the development of the national economy, and that the city’s participation came within the framework of the city’s scientific expertise and human capabilities that qualify it to support entrepreneurs and embrace the creative and innovative ideas of young people in the field of scientific research and prepare the appropriate environment for the development of their projects to achieve sustainable development in accordance with the axes of the National Strategy for Science, Technology and Innovation 2030, and also the axes of the National Strategy for Higher Education and Scientific Research. Prof. Dr. Amr Salah Morsy, Coordinator of the Innovators support Fund (ISF) in the city and a representative of the City of Scientific Research and Technological Applications in Alexandria, participated in the camp, where he gave a presentation at the end of the camp on a proposal for an agricultural, industrial, and technological incubator in Alexandria, which includes (the City of Scientific Research and Technological Applications, Alexandria University, El Alamein University, Damanhour University, and Borg El Arab Technological University). The qualifying camp for the Gen Z program aims to support the teams, provide the necessary qualification, guidance, and advice to improve the business models of these teams’ projects, and transform their innovative ideas into products that contribute to the local and international market, and prepare them to compete at the international level, as the qualified teams will be selected to join the Gen Z television program at the end of the training camp, in preparation for starting to film the television episodes under the supervision of United Media Services Company. It is worth noting that participating in the Gen Z competition provides a number of advantages to participating projects, most notably participation in the GenZ TV program, receiving training and guidance from experienced entrepreneurs and investors, providing funding for the winning companies, as well as access to a network of investors and business owners, and highlighting the efforts of these projects in the media.
