The City of Scientific Research and Technological Applications signed three contracts with Khaled Mesbah Company to manufacture chemical products. The first product: manufacturing and marketing a product: Vermi-Compost, a 100% natural source of earthworms. The second product: manufacturing and marketing a product: Magic-Humus, a 100% natural fertilizer. Third: Manufacturing and marketing a product: MICRO nutriant-Humus. This came in implementation of the principle of scientific research cooperation with the industry sector in accordance with the National Strategy for Science, Technology and Innovation 2030, and also in fulfillment of the axes of the National Strategy for Higher Education and Scientific Research, on Tuesday, May 7, 2024 at the city’s headquarters. In the presence of Professor Dr. Mona Mahmoud Abdel Latif, Director of the City, Professor Dr. Mohamed Rashad Abdel Fattah, Deputy Director of the City for Scientific and Research Affairs, Professor Dr. Amr Salah Morsy, Executive Director of the Technology Innovation Commercialization Office (TICO) and the Entrepreneurship Club (E- Club) in the City Dr. Mohamed Hafez. Abdel Fattah, researcher at the Arid Land Agriculture Research Institute, and Mr. Khaled Muhammad Mesbah – Chairman of the Board of Directors of Khaled Mesbah Company for Manufacturing Chemical Products. A non-disclosure contracts was also signed between the city and Khaled Mesbah Company for Manufacturing Chemical Products. Professor Dr. Mona Mahmoud Abdel Latif confirmed that the signing of the contracts came within the framework of the national strategy adopted by the state aimed at pumping many distinguished products to the Egyptian market that are based on the technical and technological knowledge resulting from applied research projects with the aim of deepening local and national industries to reduce Relying on imports and increasing exports, as the city’s main tasks are strategic planning, preparing future studies and road maps on science and technology priorities, transferring, generating and applying technologies that serve the production sectors with the aim of developing local production, increasing competitiveness and replacing raw materials. Local can replace imported and find alternatives that accelerate national production, as well as confront chronic societal problems and work to find appropriate solutions to them through innovative prototypes that can be applied on an experimental and industrial level by transforming the outputs into application. She also added that the signing of the contracts came as a result of the efforts of a specialized and distinguished team from the Technology Innovation Commercialization Office (TICO) in the city, which seeks to transfer the results of research and studies to the commercial manufacturing stage by communicating with various institutions and industrial bodies to transform research outputs into products. For his part, Dr. Mohamed Hafez Abdel Fattah – a member of the research team, stated that the research team has achieved, through its applied scientific research, the production of three organic products: Vermi-Compost, a 100% natural product sourced from earthworms, as it contains a high percentage of organic acids and elements. Food that is produced by a specific type of soil worms, which has the ability to reduce the use of nitrogen fertilizers in agricultural nurseries, and one of its most important benefits is that it is free of pollutants and improves the structure of the soil. It is also used to combat pests and diseases, and also achieve the production of the Magic-product. Humus is a 100% natural fertilizer known as humic acids. It is a unique product of its kind extracted from environmentally friendly materials. It contains a group of organic acids that are used as fertilizers and natural growth stimulants that are added to the soil or sprayed on the plant and increase productivity safely without relying on any Other chemical additives, which support the principle of agricultural sustainability and Egypt’s Vision 2030, in addition to achieving the production of MICRO nutriant-Humus, a product developed from humic acids mixed with microelements, which are sprayed on the leaves to treat the deficiency of macro- and microelements in agricultural crops (vegetables and fruits). (which has proven very effective in Egyptian lands, and these products are considered an application that supports sustainable agriculture as they are safe, inexpensive, effective and environmentally friendly. They also support increasing the soil content of organic matter and nutrients in the years following their use and preserve its biological diversity. In order to help reclaim land and increase the agricultural area in Egypt, the research team included Professor Dr. Mohamed Rashad Abdel Fattah and Dr. Mohamed Hafez Abdel Fattah. It is worth noting that the Khaled Mesbah Chemical Products Manufacturing Company, based in New Burj Al Arab, is one of the distinguished industrial entities with its industrial expertise, capabilities, and capital and institutional components that enable it to provide and manufacture many industrial products at the local and export market levels.
